High School Curriculum

The Polish School of Sydney high school curriculum is based on the guidelines developed by NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) and The NSW Department of Education.

Using their guidelines as a foundation, we deliver our bespoke program based on innovative teaching methods. The program combines the Polish language learning with studies about Poland, its history, culture, geography, traditions and customs.

Modern teaching methods

In our teaching, individualised approach to student needs is paramount. We recognise different language competency levels, various styles of learning and different interest among our students.

Modern teaching strategies can be applied in a big part thanks to regular use of information and communication technologies like interactive whiteboards and iPads.

Teaching objectives

Our primary aim is the effective teaching of the Polish language so that our students are well prepared for continuing their learning at SSCL and sitting Polish as an HSC subject.

It’s just as important to us to promote the Polish culture and develop and nurture the Polish national identity in our students, strengthening their sense of connection with Poland and the pride of their Polish heritage.

Our high educational standards, modern teaching methods, highly qualified and experienced staff, as well as engaging classes are an excellent opportunity for those who would like to continue studying Polish after completing primary school at a high school level.
